AKSDC Psycho-Social Programme

Our Psycho-Social Programme is a programme presented to Grade 12 learners with psycho-social crisis or behavioural challenges. Years in phase learners (YIP) identified by the Grade 12 Head and School Principal are provided with three face-to-face contact counselling sessions (minimum).

The methodology used by Dr Lionel Scott-Muller in these sessions includes the application of the Person Centered Approach (Rogerian Theory) to assist learners with goal-directed behaviour. These sessions are usually held from March to August and examination results (schedules are used to assess the academic performance of the learners), are used to assess the progress of the learners.
