Mrs Shirlene Van Rhede

Board Member

Ms Van Rhede relates her personal account of Ashley Kriel life in the struggle and how he sought refuge with her mother in law – breaking bread with families that sheltered him in his quest for justice. Further to this she shares how the apartheid government Police refused his body to enter the church causing much distress to his parents and mourners.Needless to say AKSDC has a very special place in her heart as a result of these experiences. The programs have been received very positively. All participants that came through the program are better placed for the job market and have a sense of confidence which was absent before the training intervention. Much of this is attributed to Dr Scott-Muller’s guidance that strengthened the programs.
